About
The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center provides care and shelter for stray and abandoned dogs in Franklin County. They work to reunite lost pets with their owners, facilitate adoptions for homeless dogs, and promote responsible pet ownership through education and outreach. They take on volunteers to spread love and companionship to the dogs in the shelter who are facing tough conditions and circumstances.
- Playgroup Runner: Assist in daily playgroups by transporting dogs to and from the play area, facilitating socialization among the dogs.
- Dog Bathing and Grooming: Help clean and groom the dogs.
- Field Trips & Overnights: Take dogs out of the shelter for short excursions or overnight stays, providing them with a break from the shelter environment and giving them a night of love
- New Volunteer Trainer: If you have a background in teaching or training, mentor incoming volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Photography Runner: Assist in transporting dogs to and from their photo sessions, helping to capture images that increase their chances of adoption.
- Running Club: Join the running club to provide high-energy dogs with additional exercise.
- On-Site and Off-Site Events: Participate in events at the shelter or within the community to promote dog adoptions and raise awareness about the shelter’s mission.
- Shy Dog Program: Work with to spread love to dogs that are fearful or anxious, helping them build confidence and become more comfortable around people.
