About
The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center provides care and shelter for stray and abandoned dogs in Franklin County. They work to reunite lost pets with their owners, facilitate adoptions for homeless dogs, and promote responsible pet ownership through education and outreach. They take on volunteers to spread love and companionship to the dogs in the shelter.
Dog Walking: Walk, connect, and spread love to dogs while helping them learn to use leashes.
Playgroup Runner: Help transport dogs to and from daily 3-hour dog playgroups.
Dog Bathing: bathe and keep shelter dogs clean.
Dog Grooming: Help brush and comb the dogs.
Obedience Training Class: Volunteer-run class for adopters to teach basic skills which help dogs be more likely to get adopted
Field Trips & Overnights: Take dogs on short outings or overnight stays to give them connection and a break from the shelter.
New Volunteer Trainer: Mentor and train new volunteers, especially if you have teaching experience.
Photography Runner: Assist photo shoots by bringing dogs to and from their sessions.
Running Club: Run with dogs to give them and yourself exercise.
